The Fullmer boys and girls joined up in the midwest for another chopped challenge. There were not just four competitors but 7 altogether. Our challenge ingredients were Lamb and Yellow Squash. SO FUN!!!

CHEROKEE RANCH CASTLE

My fam came to visit me for a fun weekend in Denver. We went to this early 1900's castle which used to have 100's of cattle roaming the acreage. You'll see below some of the findings inside the castle. The castle is built of mostly natural rock and slate. A woman, named Tweet, was the second owner and she had several celebrities visit there. There are several original icons such as furniture and paintings including a Peter Paul Rubens painting which was fascinating!

Tiles shipped from France, placed above fire place in dining room

THE WILDLIFE MUSEUM

Van was mostly occupied with the buttons where frogs had different rib-biting sounds-hilarious!
I like the blue poisonous frogs
Cousin Rio was very interested in the frogs

Van couldn't leave until he could ride the moose

We also caught an IMAX on dolphins

TAKE THE CAKE

I was thinking 4 maybe 5 to split....no, we took a whole cheesecake and a couple more. Why? It was my birthday!
chocolate godiva
chocolate coconut
white chocolate raspberry
red velvet
vanilla bean
mango key lime

the mango key lime was a limited special but it was actually quite refreshing!

HAVE YOU BEEN CHOPPED?

If you've watched chopped then you'll understand how exciting this is! No lack of friendly, family competition on this one!

Was it Holly's Citrus Glaze and Candied Dumplings, Laura's Chili Crema and Avocado Salsa or Debbie's Spicy Fish and succulent Omlette that brought just one chef to the top?

According to the Fullmer family, this has been a highly favored family activity:

FOUR COMPETITORS

TWO MAIN INGREDIENTS

ONE KITCHEN

CHEF HOLLY

Herbed Catfish With Warm Citrus Glaze
Caramel Toffee Potato Dumplings

CHEF DEBBIE

Mexican Spiced Catfish
Chili Renello Potato Omlette

CHEF LAURA

Tortilla Crusted Catfish With Chili Crema Sauce
& Avocado Salsa
Jalapeno Potato Bites

Of course we couldn't chop anyone for their efforts. Everyone was able to come up with something different with limited extra ingredients. Like the question states above, each chef had something unique to bring to the table.

Unfortunately, Chef Zeb was in such a hurry to complete his dish, it was not photographed. I can't tell you how thrilling and exciting it is to challenge yourself and your family with only two main ingredients and try to be as creative as possible!
TRY IT!
